This sweet family reminds me of everything that is good in the world. Three beautiful, kind, spunky, adventurous, loving little boys. Full of love and laughter and dirt and mischief and so, so much heart. I hope they cherish these photos as much as I already do!!
How to Dress Boys for Family Photos
These clients chose a light, pastel wardrobe for their three sons. The soft colors are a great choice. I encourage clients to stay away from writing on clothes, slogans, and bright colors. Minimalist clothing also helps to keep the focus on the beautiful moments contained in the images, rather than having distracting elements competing for attention in a photograph.
Tips for Family Photo Sessions during Summer
This session was photographed right before sunset, my typical favorite hour to shoot. It was especially hot on this day when we shot these images, but fortunately you can’t tell at all how hot we were! This is why I often encourage my clients to bring water and/or even snacks if needed. We want to make sure our kids are happy and hydrated while running around outside during the summertime!
Tips for Dads during Family Photos
Sometimes dads are a bit uncomfortable during family photoshoots. I can understand why, and wholly sympathize! This dad was a champ during their session. I often courage my dads not to look at the camera and smile, but instead, look lovingly at their family! That is exactly what this awesome dad did. He also did a great job of laughing, playing, and interacting naturally with his kids, making the session more of a fun game in the part, rather than a stifled photoshoot. He is a great dad to these three boys and I am confident all three will grow up to be fine young men.
